ConsentCook exists because a cookie banner should do more than tick a box — it should record what each visitor actually chose, and let you prove it later.
Most consent tools stop the moment a visitor clicks. The choice lives in that visitor's browser, where it can be cleared, and there is nothing to hand an auditor a year later but a promise. We thought the record should outlast the click — so every choice on a ConsentCook banner becomes a signed, tamper-evident receipt that captures the exact banner and policy a visitor saw, the moment they chose it.
We also think a compliance product should ask for as little as it can. Receipts use an anonymous subject key rather than a name or email, we don't keep full IP addresses by default, and deletion actually runs when your retention window ends. Proof you can keep, without the baggage you'd later have to justify holding on to.
And it should be something an ordinary team can run. Add one line to your site, build the banner, set the rules and publish — most people have a verified site collecting receipts the same afternoon, no legal degree required.
