Where to find your line
In ConsentCook, open your site and choose Setup.
You see a short block of code with a Copy button.
Copy it.
Where to paste it
It goes in the <head> of every page, as high up as you can put it. That matters: the earlier it loads, the more it can hold back before a visitor has agreed to anything.
Most website builders have a box for this. On Shopify it is in your theme's code; on Wix and Squarespace look for a custom code or header code setting. If your site was built for you, this is a two-minute job for whoever maintains it — send them the line and this page.
Using Google Tag Manager instead
If you already use Tag Manager, ConsentCook provides a template you can import rather than editing your site. Ask us in the chat and we will send it over with the import steps.
Check it is working
Open your site in a private browsing window and look for the banner. ConsentCook also notices the first time your site collects its settings, and marks the site as installed.
Still stuck?
The live chat is on every page, or email support@consentcook.com. A person answers, on every plan.
